LAS VEGAS, Nevada (December 19, 2013)- Luz Savela-Martinez, 49, was fatally injured in a hit-and-run incident Thursday night at the intersection of North Nellis Boulevard at Cedar Avenue, according to Las Vegas Police officers and the Clark County Coroner’s office.
According to witnesses and evidence found at the scene, a white four-door sedan collided with the pedestrian at precisely 8:47 p.m. The pedestrian was in a marked crosswalk at Cedar Avenue upon impact. The driver continued down Cedar Avenue and made no effort to stop, fleeing the scene.
Paramedics arrived at the accident to treat the injured pedestrian, however the 49-year-old female was later pronounced dead. The names of the individuals involved in the accident are unknown at this time.
“Justice must be brought upon this cowardly individual for taking the life of this woman. The pain and suffering that friends and family are enduring right now is unimaginable,” said Attorney West Seegmiller, a Nevada wrongful death attorney.
